“Who is like unto thee, O Lord, among the gods? who is like thee, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders?”

Exodus‬ ‭15:11‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Last week a very informative and comprehensive post on Jehovah’s Witnesses was reblogged by: https://bornagain732.wordpress.com/.

You can read the post here: https://grainofwheatblog.wordpress.com/2019/11/23/jehovahs-witnesses-cults-generally/

Thank you to both of you.

I found the information contained in the post very helpful and informative. During our team’s weekly street outreach, we do come across at times with people from the JW’s faith. I learned a lot from the post and took notes.

Yesterday as we were in the street reaching out to passers by, a man in his late thirties approached us. We were listening intently to what he had to say, until he revealed that he was a “Jehovah’s Witness”. At this point my team moved away and left me alone with him.

Taking my cues from the post I had read, I found out his name is Sam. He was a Muslim originally from Lebanon, converted to the JW’s faith. If you read the post, you will know that it said to be “ a pupil and not a teacher”. I prayed the Lord would give me a humble heart and that Sam would see the love of Christ in me.

I knew that my meeting with Sam yesterday morning was “no coincidence”. I trembled with fear of God and ask that the Holy Spirit will guide my words and actions. “Please Lord, don’t let me say the wrong thing, guide me Holy Spirit”, was my internal cry to God.

Sam and I began discussing the differences in our faith. MAJOR differences in our faith. He had his Bible I had mine. We opened our Bibles and I followed his lead. He was showing me verses that spoke of Jesus being the “First born of creation”, he took me to verses such as Colossians 1:15. He kept insisting that Jesus was created.

I showed him these verses and asked him to explain to me what they meant:

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”
‭‭John‬ ‭1:1‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.”
‭‭John‬ ‭17:5‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Sam kept of showing me that Jesus was the first born of creation and that Jesus prayed to the Father. He said that Jehovah was the ONLY God.

I asked him to read Isaiah 44:6

“Thus saith the Lord the King of Israel, and his redeemer the Lord of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭44:6‬ ‭KJV‬‬

I made sure he read “ BESIDES ME THERE IS NO GOD”

and then I took him to the book of Revelation and showed him the words of Jesus.

“I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.”

Revelation‬ ‭22:13‬ ‭KJV‬‬

We talked for a very long time, Sam and I. My concern for him was genuine.
I did notice in his eyes that some of the Scriptures I was showing him took him by surprise.

The last verse I shared with Sam is found in John28:28

And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.”

John‬ ‭20:28‬ ‭KJV‬‬

I told Sam that I would pray for him, that God would open his eyes to the truth.

I also was given the opportunity to share my testimony with Sam, I told him how God opened my eyes to the deception of the Roman Catholic Church and revealed His Truth and His Son to me.

I am so thankful for the post that was written by Helen and reblogged by Beth. God used it to prepare me to meet Sam. it was no coincidence, God used three of His children to reach Sam yesterday. I have tears in my eyes as I type these words.
God is so AMAZING!!

Pray for Sam. I do believe God is calling him.

Thank you for reading and God bless you and keep you in the name of Jesus!

Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.”
‭‭Jude‬ ‭1:24-25‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands. Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing. Know ye that the Lord he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭100:1-5‬ ‭KJV

Appearances can be deceiving!

Every week,  a team from our church goes out to share the gospel in the streets of our  city.  I am part of this group .

The Lord has blessed us with many opportunities to share the gospel and pray with people .  But of course we also have had our share of rejection and insults.

Last Friday, two men from Tonga approached our group.  One of them came over  to  me and asked me what  church we were from,  I responded that we were Christians.  Then  he asked me what I thought of gays and gay marriage.
A quick glance and I noticed that the two men were wearing identical wedding rings. First thought in my mind was that these two men were a couple.  Second thought was their size compared to me, they were well over six feet in height, I on the other hand have almost made it to  five feet, they were strong built and I am the opposite.
Get the picture ?

FEAR struck!!!

While I was busy planning  a quick get away, the man asked me again,

“what do you think of gay marriage, is it right?“

“What do you think of gays? “

So I began to slowly tell him that God created Adam and Eve and that marriage was between a man and a woman.  Then he asked me, “so you are telling me that same sex marriage is wrong,?”, his tone of voice was confronting and I was tongue tied.   After a few uncomfortable moments he asked me if I had read Romans chapter one.  Of course I said.   Then he told me that I should be bold when speaking God’s truth .  He continued saying that I should not let fear of man take over .  Gay marriage is wrong and I should have said that when he asked me even if I thought that they were gay.  I should have said that gays will go to hell unless they repent and put their faith in Jesus. He continued saying that we Christians need to stand up and be like Jesus. We need to shine His light in this dark world . And so he continued preaching .  By then the rest of the group had joined us.  One of the ladies in our group asked if they were Christians and they said yes.  They said that they pretended not to be Christians to see how bold we were when speaking God’s Truth.  So we asked them what church they attended, we were shocked when they said “The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints”.

At this point they said they had to go They shook hands with us and told us to keep up the good work sharing the gospel and not to be afraid to offend anyone and off they went.

The way they were speaking to us and preaching was totally Biblical and yet they were Mormons.  Their Jesus is not the Jesus of the Bible.

I still don’t know what to make out of the whole experience.  Except that he was right .  I let fear take over.   Now I can seek the Lord to help me in my weakness and pray for boldness in all situations.

“On the day I called, You answered me; You made me bold with strength in my soul.”

Psalms‬ ‭138:3‬ ‭NASB‬‬

The Lord spoke to me through this message this morning preparing me to face the day ahead of me and every day after until He calls me home.
It is my prayer that you too will hear God speak directly to you as you listen to His Word and put it into action .

May God bless you and keep you !!

Keeping the Sabbath Day Rest

Where Living Begins

Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy (Exodus 20:8)

The seventh day of the week is Saturday. In the Bible it’s called the Sabbath day, meaning rest. It recalls the day God completed His work of creation. And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done (Genesis 2:2). God didn’t rest because He was tired, but because He’d completed His work of creation; it was finished.

God commanded the nation of Israel to keep the Sabbath. Both people and animals were to cease from all their physical labors on Saturday as a reminder that everything, including time, is a precious gift from God (Exodus 20:8-11).

The command to keep the Sabbath is the only one of the Ten Commandments not repeated in the New Testament for Christians. Some groups still…
