“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:”
1 Peter 5:8
“BE ANGRY, AND yet DO NOT SIN; do not let the sun go down on your anger, and do not give the devil an opportunity.”
Ephesians 4:26-27
“Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.”
James 4:7
The devil actually is an inch away, Crissy, and to evade its snarls is to pray and focus on the Triune GOD for deliverance and guidance. Blessings my friend!

Thanks, Crissy! The evil one definitely gains a foothold when we allow our emotions to override our spiritual reason. A personal twist: People comment that I’m a very “laid-back” person, but I would say I’m very reserved and sometimes have difficulty processing/expressing my emotions. I’ll hold in my anger until I “pop” like a volcano. Not a pretty sight. Doing better with the Lord’s help.

Oh yes! Couldn’t agree more Tom.
Like the Israelites, I had to walk around the dessert in a circle until I learned the lesson of submitting to God and then on to the next lesson .
The work of santificación by the Holy Spirit is powerful and painful and at times a lonely journey
Oh! but what a victory when we overcome and win that battle .

Thanks, Crissy. All good thoughts. The Lord’s loving discipline as He continues to transform/sanctify us can be a bit “uncomfortable.”
