He made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a servant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross (Philippians 2:7-8).

The Bible teaches that the immortal, invisible Second Person of the Godhead took upon Himself human flesh and blood (Hebrews 2:14). In His Incarnation, He didn’t stop being God, but humanity was added to His being. As the hymn, “Hark! The Herald Angels Sing” says, Christ’s deity was “veiled inflesh.”
