I have a ”Christian” friend who has been trapped in this type of deception for decades. It absolutely breaks my heart. Sid Roth is someone she looks up to and her favourite TV channel is Daystar. (She quotes Daystar more than the Bible). For years we have been praying and trying to reach her with the truth of the Bible to no avail. After watching this video I wonder if the time has come for us to walk away and let her go her chosen way.
Not sure if I’d walk away, but would definitely step back a few paces. You may want to be a position to minister to her should she seek you in a time of need.
Just my 2 cents’ worth.

Crissy, that is a really disturbing video…but in another sense it does not surprise me. We had some close friends who were deeply into Joyce Meyer and Benny Hin; as much as tried to guide them towards Biblical teaching it always failed. We eventually concluded the best we could do was pray for them that the grip of these charlatans would be broken on our friends.

I do hope your friends have been released from these destructive false teachers.
Thank you Alan.

Not sure if you step away or just step back a few paces. You may want to keep communications open should she come to you in a time of need.
Just my 2 cents’ worth.

I’ll always be here for her should she ever need me. I’ll make sure she knows that. I just can’t do the speaking the truth in love part. ( I feel like shaking her )
Thank you David appreciate your comment .

I watched this yesterday and I just shook my head! I totally understand where you are coming from. I have a friend who is also heavily involved in the NAR and charismania and I have pulled back. I do not condone this theology/behavior and I feel like if I didn’t give distance to her because she can be so staunch in her views that it makes conversations impossible. She can take things really personally if she feels attacked which is never helpful. I am so thankful for you and your heart for the true gospel and for godly men like Justin Peters!!!

Crissy, thanks for this video. Pastors are to blame for not speaking out against the Pentecostal/Charismatic heresy of experientialism/religious emotionalism that began 120 years ago. Pastors kept their mouths shut then and continue to do so in the interest of “Christian unity” as more and more people get sucked into this heresy. In the same way, pastors kept quiet about ecumenism with Rome and now they even endorse that.

If you can’t agree that the Bible is the source and foundation of your faith – not your experiences – the two of you will never have a reasonable discussion about truth. It’s like trying to have a conversation with a drunk.

i have friends who are into this…its all about the emotion, not the truth…sad, keep praying for your friend and treat her as you would an unbeliever…the joy you have in Jesus, live your life in faith in the Son of God…and pray did i say that already ?? my mom received Jesus as Lord when she was 76 years old and God took her home 4 months later…God hears our prayers..

Crissy, I think it’s wonderful that you care so much about your friend and have taken the time to pray for and reason with her. I also think you’re wise to step back at this point, while letting her know you’re still there for her.
I was introduced to a milder form of this movement when I first became a Christian. I read many books by charismatic authors (Kathryn Kuhlman and the like) and even attended a Benny Hinn event at the invitation of a friend–though I was skeptical. When I met my husband–who was attending a Baptist church–I tried to convert him, but he wouldn’t have anything to do with it. So I started attending his church and through that God opened my eyes to the error, irreverence, and absurdity of the charismatic movement. I pray God will do the same for your friend. I pray that God himself will open her eyes to the truth about this movement, because only He knows what it will take to reach her. Blessings to you, my friend. ❤
