“Teach me Your way, O Lord, And lead me in a level path Because of my foes.”
Psalm 27:11
Teach me thy way, O Lord; teach me thy way!
Thy guiding grace afford; teach me thy way!
Help me to walk aright, more by faith, less by sight;
lead me with heav’nly light; teach me thy way!
When I am sad at heart, teach me thy way!
When earthly joys depart, teach me thy way!
In hours of loneliness, in times of dire distress,
in failure or success, teach me thy way!
When doubts and fears arise, teach me thy way!
When storms o’erspread the skies, teach me thy way!
Shine thro’ the cloud and rain, thro’ sorrow, toil, and pain;
make thou my pathway plain; teach me thy way!
Long as my life shall last, teach me thy way!
Where’er my lot be cast, teach me thy way!
Until the race is run, until the journey’s done,
until the crown is won, teach me thy way!

This is a great song/hymn Crissy! This makes us rely on GOD to help us walk by faith (a right) especially during storms in life unti we finished the race. It reminded me of the song, Have it thine way, Lord. Kaibigan, que tengas un bendito domingo! 😊

I think I fall into that category of people who seem to need a high degree of pain to learn the ways of the master. Upon further reflection though, I probably would have made a lot of choices without Christ which would have been even more painful (and learned nothing?)
Only God can give us immense peace in the pain and storms of life as we learn of HIm and his ways. Yes, a great hymn and a life of commitment is more than worth the cost (free).

Although I don’t enjoy times of high degree of pain as you mention Gary, I am always grateful at the end. Psalm 119/71 comes to mind.
Totally agree with your last statement.

Thanks, Crissy. We’ll always be students while on this temporal world. The other day my wife was a bit discouraged about not “measuring up” to God’s standard of holiness, but if we were perfect Jesus wouldn’t have had to die for us. Satan desires for us to get discouraged and become ineffective.

The struggle with Satan is so real, hard to stop the evil whispers at times. I can relate to your wife, having been there more times than I would like to. But you are right if we could be perfect Jesus wouldn’t have to die a cruel death.

Crissy, thanks for sharing this blessed hymn. We are indeed blessed to have a Father who grows weary in teaching us His way.
