“Worthy are You, our Lord and our God, to receive glory and honor and power; for You created all things, and because of Your will they existed, and were created.”
Revelation 4:11
It’s Friday morning and our evangelistic group is out in the street speaking to people and looking for opportunities to share the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ with those that are willing to listen.
WHAT IS THE GOSPEL
“The gospel of Jesus Christ is the good news that God provided the way for man to be freed from the penalty of sin (John 14:6; Romans 6:23). Everyone dies physically, but those who believe in Jesus Christ are promised a physical resurrection unto eternal life (John 11:23–26). Those who reject Christ will not only die physically but will undergo a “second death,” which the Bible describes as an eternal lake of fire (Revelation 20:13–14). Jesus is the only One in whom salvation can be found (Acts 4:12).” (From https://www.gotquestions.org/gospel-of-Jesus-Christ.html)
For the last few weeks a certain man kept coming around and asking many questions about God and Jesus, heaven and hell.
He stopped by today and asked if he could be baptised if he was a sinner or did he have to wait until he stopped sinning to be baptised.
He explained that he was worried because he wanted to be baptised but felt that he wasn’t worthy as he knew he was a sinner before God and even if asked for forgiveness he stilled sinned.
We asked him a few questions so that we could have a clearer understanding of his concerns. We learned that he was a polish immigrant to Australia and had been brought up in the Catholic faith from a very young age. He said he had many unanswered questions about his faith and that he was compelled to search for the truth.
Praise God for this opportunity!!
We were able to speak with him openly and knowingly as we ourselves had come from a Catholic background.
We were able to share the glorious gospel of the Lord Jesus using Scripture. We explained, repentance, the new birth and how Christianity is different from every other religion on the face of the earth. He was listening attentively.
We shared how Baptism doesn’t save anyone. Salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone in Jesus Christ alone. We explained how Baptism is an outward expression of our faith.
It was marvellous to see how it was all making sense to him. He was accepting and understanding what we were showing him from the Bible.
“And the Lord’s servant must not be quarrelsome but kind to everyone, able to teach, patiently enduring evil, correcting his opponents with gentleness. God may perhaps grant them repentance leading to a knowledge of the truth, and they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil, after being captured by him to do his will.”
2 Timothy 2:24-26
The look of joy of his face as he understood the gospel almost brought us to tears. He told us he wanted to know the truth.
“So Jesus was saying to those Jews who had believed Him, “If you continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.””
John z8:31-32
He asked us many more question regarding the Catholic faith and Christianity. I am so thankful that we were able to explain the difference.
He agreed that he needed to grow in His knowledge of God and be in fellowship with other Christians. He wanted to know where he could buy a Bible from after we told him we would give him one he was so grateful.
We also invited him to attend our congregation.
Now it’s in God’s Hands.
He also confided that there was apprehension leaving the only faith he ever knew.
Please pray for this dear soul. He is searching for the truth and we know that the enemy our our souls will be sowing confusion, lies and doubt seeking to rob steal and destroy.
God bless you.
Thank you for reading.

I love the stories, the paths and journeys of those finding our savior. So many attempting to evangelize others never find out the road blocks, the questions that need answering to accept Christ as their savior. We must be willing to go the distance with them on their journey seeking God and yet be ready to introduce them to the Lord today.

Thanks for posting this, Crissy! Praise God! I will be praying for this man today that he continues to grow in the Lord. So many souls have wrong ideas about baptism due to the RCC.

So true Tom. He was confused about so many teachings of the RCC specially Baptism.
Thank you for your prayers for this dear young man. And also thank you for your faithful dedication to your blog. I’ve learned so much about the faith I once used to profess that now by God’s Grace I am able to explain the difference with assured confidence,
Thank you and blessings Tom.
