You heard the gospel Tuesday morning and believed by faith that Jesus died to save you from your sins. That night as you ate dinner, you choked and instantly died. You didn’t have a chance to ask God’s forgiveness for the sins committed since you were saved. Do you go to Heaven or Hell?

Crissy, thanks for passing this along. Catholics who have zero use for God at any other time are known for madly scrambling for a priest to administer last rites when a loved one is facing imminent death. In this emergency sacramentalism, I imagine there are a number of dying Catholics who genuinely repent and figuratively throw themselves at the feet of Jesus Christ and ask Him to save them, like the thief on the cross.
