“And one of them smote the servant of the high priest, and cut off his right ear. And Jesus answered and said, Suffer ye thus far. And he touched his ear, and healed him.”
Luke 22:50-51 KJV
“The last thing the Lord Jesus did before His hands were bound was to heal.
“Have you ever asked yourself, If I knew that this was the last thing I should do, what would I do? I have never found the answer to that question. There are so very, very many things that we would want to do for those whom we love, that I do not think we are likely to be able to find the chief one of all these. So the best thing is just to go on simply, doing each thing as it comes as well as we can.
“Our Lord Jesus spent much time in healing sick people, and in the natural course of events it happened that the last thing He did with His kind hands was to heal a bad cut. (I wonder how they could have the heart to bind His hands after that.) In this, as in everything, He left us an example that we should follow in His steps. Do the thing that this next minute, this next hour, brings you, faithfully and lovingly and patiently; and then the last thing you do, before power to do is taken from you (if that should be), will be only the continuation of all that went before.” Amy Carmichael
Crissy, thanks for today’s dose of inspiration! I would enjoy reading a book about Amy Carmichael in the future.

RE: Comic day
Ha! How did you know? Picked up what might be my last comic as the rumors are the series was phased out. Currently 54F and sunny here in ROC, hope you’re having nice weather as well.

It’s sunny! The temp says 54f also but the wind is cold but I am thankful for the sun!!!!! It seems like on Tuesdays whether in response to me or others you mention comic book outings on Wednesdays. I hope that doesn’t make me sound like a weirdo or something like that!!!! Is a Corinne a comic gal?! Hopefully it won’t be the last, but if it is, maybe it will be worth big money at some point!!

Glad you got some warm temps and sun! The Legion first appeared in Adventure Comics #247 (April 1958) and two years ago a copy in very good condition sold for $20,000. But value drops off dramatically after that debut issue because the Legion is not generally popular like Batman. The issues I read as a kid in late-1960s can be had for around $20-$30. After a 50-year run, the Legion was discontinued in 2013, was brought back in 2019 for one year, but evidently didn’t interest enough readers. I’m strictly a Legion guy so it looks like no more trips to the comic shop. Corinne tolerates my very limited and now defunct comic “habit.”

Excellent post and a chance to reflect more on a forgotten man in scripture.

Powerful testimony of Amy C. with her life and missions; in the excerpt you shared I wonder too how the soldiers could have bounded Jeuss’ hand after His hand touched to heal one of their own

We were discussing the same thing ourselves yesterday .
How could they ?

It goes to show how heinous was the act of capturing and killing Jesus
