“For our citizenship is in heaven, from which also we eagerly wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ; who will transform the body of our humble state into conformity with the body of His glory, by the exertion of the power that He has even to subject all things to Himself.”
‭‭Philippians‬ ‭3:20-21‬ ‭

All who have a living faith in Jesus Christ enjoy an eternal citizenship in heaven even if we do not presently experience the realities of this citizenship in full.
The rights that go with being a citizen involve the final transformation of “our lowly body to be like [Jesus’] glorious body” (vv. 20–21).
At the last day, the bodies of believers will be raised and reunited with our souls that, at death, enjoy God’s presence in heaven. Then we will be complete, and our denial of sinful passions today will be seen as worth it in our enjoyment of eternal bliss.
But all those who pursue their own ends now at the expense of God’s law will see how their fleeting, wicked pleasures were foolish indeed, for unbelievers will likewise be resurrected, but they will suffer forever the wrath of the One who rules over all (Rev. 20).
