“On that day, when evening came, He said to them, “Let us go over to the other side.”
Leaving the crowd, they took Him along with them in the boat, just as He was; and other boats were with Him.
And there arose a fierce gale of wind, and the waves were breaking over the boat so much that the boat was already filling up.
Jesus Himself was in the stern, asleep on the cushion; and they woke Him and said to Him, “Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?”
And He got up and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, “Hush, be still.”
And the wind died down and it became perfectly calm.
And He said to them, “Why are you afraid? Do you still have no faith?”
They became very much afraid and said to one another, “Who then is this, that even the wind and the sea obey Him?””
Mark 4:35-41
Thank you for this reminder to trust in our Lord GOD, Crissy! Because He is our GOD, we don’t fear what He can control (and that is everything) but we also should be mindful not to test Him. Running in front of bullets/covid19 is an exemplary exercise of faith in GOD, if that is the reason. But it is also unnecessary if there is another way not to head on and still having a strong faith in Him.

Thank you Clark. Your comment reminds of of this verse
“Jesus said to him, “On the other hand, it is written, ‘Y OU SHALL NOT PUT THE LORD YOUR GOD TO THE TEST.’ ””
Matthew 4:7

Crissy, thank you for this passage to start off my Sunday morning! I’m running a little late because of a hectic Saturday. It’s comforting to know that the Lord is also beside us in the storm.

So encouraging to know since the storms seem to happen more frequently these days.

Amen! This is one of the Bible’s most remembered illustrations about faith. I sometimes find myself being there with the disciples and witnessing Jesus teaching.
