Brokeness! Thank you for this reminder, Crissy! Great hymns have inspiring background stories e.g. John Newton’s Amazing Grace and my best narration and voice is by Wintley Phipps. His version of “It is Well With My Soul”, both in youtube is one of the best I’ve heard. Spafford’s life was horribly traumatic and yet, his written lyrics, made after those events, is a testament of a true believer in JESUS CHRIST. A believer who is grateful for GOD’s grace dispite all the tragedies and longs for JESUS’ second coming. There is more to this song for me, in fact it is one of my videos in the gersomclark channel because of its impact and background story. Wintley gave a good introductory line before he sang the song.

Likewise, Crissy, have a blessed weekday ahead! Maybe the combination of the song title and channel name might help. Powerful voice indeed. Good morning!

This is my favorite hymn of all time. Should I leave this world before the Lord returns, I have already requested this song to be sung because it is the one song that speaks my heart about my life and relationship with Jesus.

The words of this hymn has become personal to you. And I can see why!
How deep are the hymns of old compared to some of the songs of today.
      Blessings

Thanks, Crissy. It’s always heartwrenching to read about the Spaffords’ tragedies but the hymn reminds us that God is our Great Comforter.

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.
