I don’t know about you, but I’m not such a big fan of change- especially when it comes to change I don’t have control over.
My position at work was made redundant in May this year. As I was trying to adjust to the serious change in my life, I take a fall and break my wrist. After having an emergency operation to fix the damage, I am still in a full cast. To add to the list my relationship it’s coming to an end.
In just three short months my life has changed completely and unexpectedly.
When such changes enter our life, it’s overwhelming, confusing, even terrifying. We can go to bed at night to one reality and wake up to a completely different life. This is precisely where I am right now.
Yet in the midst of change, there is one thing that never changes, the one thing that stays the same: OUR UNCHANGING GOD.
We read in the Bible that God never changes.
“For I the LORD do not change; therefore you, O children of Jacob, are not consumed”
Malachi 3-6
There is no transition, inconsistency, or change in this God. The same God who forgave David for his adultery is the one who crushed his own Son when Christ became sin at the cross for us.
Yesterday, today, and forever He is the God who is
“gracious and merciful, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love. The Lord is good to all, and his mercy is over all that he has made”
psalm 145:8-9
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.”
Hebrews 13:8
I’m so glad to know that we serve a God who stays the same. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. Whether we lose our jobs, experience relational, physical or emotional changes, God is a constant and dependable anchor.
Despite feeling like some changes in my life extend far beyond my control, I have come to know the beauty of resting in the arms of a God who is always totally in control of the circumstances of my life.
If God has allowed a change in your life, let that change motivate you to draw closer to Him and to His Word. Let Him be your refuge, your comfort and your strength.
“I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.””
Psalm 91:2
Faithful one, so unchanging
Ageless one, you’re my rock of peace
Lord of all I depend on you
I call out to you, again and again
I call out to you, again and again.
You are my rock in times of trouble
You lift me up when I fall down
All through the storm
Your love is, the anchor
My hope is in You alone
Songwriters: Brian Doerksen
Amen. Praying for you, Sonrisa.

Amen ~ I am sorry that everything is changing for you~BUT ~ I am happy to know that you know God’s truth!
May you draw nearer and nearer to His love and understanding each new day!
He reminds us through His precious Word~Jesus:
Matthew 6:25-34 King James Version (KJV)
25 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?
26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?
27 Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?
28 And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:
29 And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?
31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
May you take one day at a time as you trust in Him 🙏🏻💕

Thank you for sharing this, Crissy. You are definitely going through a painful and upsetting time period. As you point out, our Lord is sovereign and our unchangeable Rock no matter what the circumstances. He’ll see you through all of these things. You continue to be in my prayers.
