Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise him again— my Savior and my God!

Do Christians become discouraged? very much so. Sometimes no matter what we do we are not able to remove the sadness and the discouragement we feel deep deep inside. Our face smiles, our mouth speaks but in our inner most being a desperate battle is being waged against discouragement.

Why have we lost our courage? Our motivation to press forward?

Because the valley seems deep and dark, oh yes, we press forward for a time, soon we imagine our efforts are getting us absolutely no where, so we give up!

What brings us to the Valley of Discouragement ?

In my experience is when I take my eyes of Jesus and allow “everything ” else to take control.


When you are faced with disappointments and when all around you seems hopeless, do not give up or try to solve the problem yourself. Satan tries to use these disappointments to discourage you and bring you down, but God can use them for a better purpose. Go to Christ instead. He is able to lead you out of your discouragement. And if you focus on Him, He will use times of trials .
