“I Will Not Leave You Nor Forsake You”

FTA …As we move closer to the end of the age and experience increased opposition, Christians must cling to this marvelous assurance and never let go!

By David

A Hostile Place
The world is becoming ever more hostile for Christians.

For decades in the West, our deeply
held values have been mocked, assaulted, and dismissed. We have come to expect
ridicule, but the stakes are getting higher as the secular world looks to
criminalize our ethics. Expressing our beliefs either is, or is on the way to,
becoming illegal.

In oppressed nations, Christians are
beaten, imprisoned, and executed for their faith. In the West, Christian-restrictive
government legislation could lead to fines, firings, closure of businesses, and
perhaps imprisonment for Christian “offenders.”

As each day brings new attacks on our
beliefs, it seems as if God is aloof. We want to ask Him, “God, are You seeing
what is happening here? Do You notice? Do You care?” Of course we know the
answer to these questions, but we are frustrated nonetheless.

Marvelous Assurance
God does indeed…

AfterThought: Episode 18 – A Wife Warns Against Lust

Tulips & Honey

Today, dear one, my episode is one of the most serious I’ve ever recorded. If you’ve never listened to my podcast, or any podcast, before please let this one be the first one you hear. Joining me on the program is a very close friend, who is remaining anonymous due to the graphic nature of the discussion. It was due to deep concern, and love for the brethren, that she decided to come and speak publicly against pornography, lust, and adultery. This was not something she took lightly, or did gladly, but that she was compelled to do so for the glory of God. Please, my friends, if you could pray for her, for her family, and for this episode, I would be so grateful.

Also, although I say this every time, I mean it much more today, please share this. Statistically, you know someone struggling with this. You sit…

Why do Christian’s Always Talk About Salvation?

What do Christians mean when they say that people need to be “saved”?

Do we mean that people need to just modify their behavior and obey God’s law? It would be great if it were that simple, but that is not what we mean.

It means, rather, that human beings are prisoners, captives and slaves to their idols, to their own lusts, to the world system and to the devil. That we cannot extract ourselves from these things because, like those who have Stockholm syndrome, we have fallen in love with our captors, i.e. we love those things which are doing us the most harm. And while we all vaguely recognize that something is not right in the world and with the nature of human beings, we tend to shrug this off, suppress and ignore it, and willingly come under the illusion that we live in freedom. We cling to the falsehood of human progress and and think human ingenuity will somehow deliver us from ourselves and our problems.

We pridefully hold to the false idea that we are something and can do something to make things right. But in the end we cannot extract ourselves from our captivity. No wisdom, no plan, no power, no understanding, and no technology can do so. The problem runs far too deep in us for that. Like the Hebrews in Egypt we are slaves needing rescue from our captivity. The tyranny of our idols and lusts are too powerful for nature to conquer. We need redemption from the outside. D9D5FAE3-7392-47CF-B0F6-8B832BD0E01D

So salvation is not behavior modification. No. We are too entangled in the web of our own making to get out. We first need supernatural intervention by One like us who breaks the bonds and leads us out of slavery. Then, and only then, after being freed from our captors are we free to do right, to love mercy and do justly and to walk humbly with our God.

But those who ally themselves with the tyranny of sin, like the Egyptians, will experience fullness of God’s wrath, which is the ultimate thing we need to be saved from.    Source

A Loving Warning to All Catholics

In this short, 7+ minute video, evangelist Ray Comfort reaches out to a Roman Catholic college student with the Gospel of grace. Every Roman Catholic would benefit by watching this video. In addition, every evangelical who mistakenly believes the Roman Catholic church preaches the Gospel would also benefit by watching.

I posted another video of Ray witnessing to a Roman Catholic back on July 2nd. Watch it here.

To all my dear friends,

I am slowly catching up with reading all your posts. I have not forgotten you. Life has taken another unexpected turn for me. I am going through some serious situations at the moment, so the bad news from the doctor on Tuesday was the last thing I needed.

Expect the unexpected!,

Well, I wasn’t ready for it. It hit me like a ton of bricks.

Those of you who read my little blog would perhaps remember that I broke my wrist in June, and in July I had to undergo an operation to straighten my broken bones. As a consequence the doctor sent me for a bone density test.

The results from the scan were straight forward, no mincing words here, I have advanced osteoporosis. I was told I have the bones of an 120 year old woman. ( Of course I would be a spring chicken if I was living before the flood)

Some tests will be carried out in the next few weeks to see if I was alive back in the days of the dinosaurs before starting treatment.

So glad the Lord is carrying me through all this episodes that have attacked my life so unexpectedly. God is so amazing!!! At my weakest moment this morning, He spoke to me in Psalm 121 and calm my restless soul. I trust Him ever so completely. His steadfast love sustains me. He is so good.

“I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.

He will not let your foot be moved; he who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, he who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord is your keeper; the Lord is your shade on your right hand. The sun shall not strike you by day, nor the moon by night.

The Lord will keep you from all evil; he will keep your life. The Lord will keep your going out and your coming in from this time forth and forevermore.”

Psalms 121:1-8

“Let this encourage those of you who belong to Christ: the storm may be tempestuous, but it is only temporary. The clouds that are temporarily rolling over your head will pass, and then you will have fair weather, an eternal sunshine of glory. Can you not watch with Christ for one hour? “~ Williams Gurnall
