The Sovereignty of God and that Jesus died for whom the Father gave Him the elect only those are beautiful truths. Yes we do share the Gospel with the lost alwe don’t know who the elect are but He didn’t die for everyone only if He wills.
We were commanded to make disciples .
“And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.””
Matthew 28:18-20
Crissy, thanks for this excellent message from Pastor J. Mac, which I listened to while walking our dog this morning. I really appreciate how JMac acknowledges in this video and elsewhere, including books of his that I have read, the mystery of God’s sovereignty AND man’s freewill and responsibility. There are zealous hyper-Calvinists out there who altogether deny that the Bible teaches freewill and responsibility.
…and yes, I agree with you that we are to focus on reaching out to the lost with the Gospel and not get caught up in arguments over secondary and tertiary doctrines.
Sonrisa,
Thank you for this insightful sermon and the subject has particular urgent meaning in my personal present ordeal.
Your Blog is very nicely done!
God Bless You and Yours.

Certainly Crissy, you’re more than welcome! but again you led me to think just now of how that one central axiom of profound reality reminds us that everything we have and are is only “because He gave it to us,” The Lord Giveth,”even this moment. Keep doing the good and encouraging things you do, as you live to serve Him who made this all possible!
Have a lovely day,
Lawrence
Thank you Sonrisa for sharing this wonderful sermon! John Mac is one of the preachers that I’m listening to, along with Lutzer, Swindoll, and Stanley among others. I’ve read the NT MacArthur Study Bible twice that inspired me to use ESV as the translation for the blog, although I’m fine with NIV and NASB. His (John) explanation on election, justification, effectual call etc widebs my understanding on the GOD in three persons and salvation, among others.
Thank you for your comment Gersom. God used John Macarthur and a few others to bring me out of the deception I was in. I find JM a doctrinally sound Bible teacher.
Blessings to you.
GOD bless you too Sonrisa! I’m glad that GOD led you away from such deception. Not all people are. You are elected by GOD the FATHER, justified by faith in His Son, JESUS CHRIST as JESUS’ own, with the prodding of the HOLY SPIRIT. That is what we are doing in these blogs, to lead to whom GOD elects and calls to an understanding in Him, in love and in genuine saving faith.
